The Hospice Africa Mission

Hospice Africa exists to provide palliative care to patients across Africa. We do this by setting an example of how care should be given through our clinical teams in Uganda. We then train other healthcare professionals from all over Africa so that they can bring this practice to all parts of the continent. Our mission is only possible with the help of our dedicated team members and volunteers. These people are dedicated to helping those who are dealing with life shortening illness, allowing them peace in a time of pain.

Josephine's Story

Josephine joined Hospice Africa X years ago and works as a nurse in Kampala, Uganda. Here you see her packing up the van with Morphine and other crucial medicines before heading out on home visits to check up on up to four patients a per day.

Siraj's Story

Siraj joined Hospice Africa X years ago as a driver at the Mbarara site. He worked there for X years before his talents were noticed and Siraje was asked to become the head driver, responsible for all transportation at Hospice. Without Siraje and his team, wouldn’t be able to get safely to visit the patients and provide them with the care that they so desperately need. Siraje is also responsible for the transport of founder, Dr. Anne Merriman, the two pictured below.
